Miss port xoxox

Loving the feminine fabrics and ruffles at X&O and Miss Port by designer Kim Govaars as seen at Fashion Week.

1. What are the trends you have focused on for your summer 2010 collection?
Summer 2010 is a very clean, understated yet sexy look of all things neutral –  soft dusty pinks, crème, beige and sandy tones mixed with pearl and black and washed vintage floral prints and stripes.

2.  What was your inspiration?

I drew inspiration for this season from my travels to Paris this spring, and my visit to the YSL Retrospective at the Petit Palais. The movement between the spirit of medieval to modern day Paris with it’s angelic architecture, frothy colours, crisp white flowers blossoming and the vibrant lifestyle is what elevates a visit to Paris in the springtime to an almost spiritual encounter.

3. What are your summer key items / essentials?

A long, lightweight jersey maxidress teamed with a big plaited leather belt, a gorgeous white cotton shirt that is either long enough to wear as a dress on it’s own, or with a pair of summer shorts or peg leg pants, and a full skirt in either an embroidered or floral cotton for day or flirty ballet tulle for the evening.

4. What are your tips on how to wear your summer 2010 collection?

All the pieces in my collection are meant to be worn separately, or mixed up with other pieces from the collection or with your current staples. Classic, timeless pieces are meant to be coveted for more than one season.

5.Where is your range stocked / available?

Miss Port and X&O are both available exclusively at all YDE stores nationwide.

6.Please give us one quote that sums up your brand and outlook.

“ Feminine yet sexy, modern yet wearable”
