BEAUTY FEATURE FRIDAY – WOMANITY GIVE AWAY

Who are you today?

Mother, daughter, boss, mom, lover, fighter, conqueror, flirt, diva, survivor?

Us women wear many masks, our roles and moods change constantly. We can be soft and feminine, but strong and powerful. We can be anything we want to be. We are Womanity.

This Spring, Thierry Mugler launches his new fragrance Womanity. As the bottle suggests, the pretty pink fragrance is soft and feminine, but the bottle is rather strong and architectural, a little rock n roll I say. As with the contrasting design of the bottle, so is this controversial new fragrance.

Like your changing emotions, a spritz of this pink experience will evolve and adapt to your mood and skin temperature. You’ll love it or hate it, you’ll have all your friends talking about it and guessing, what IS she wearing…

There are two main strengths to this fragrance. The sweet soft scent of sensual, ripe, juicy, plump figs (which I absolutely love personally) and the unexpected savory, salty scent from caviar. Is this fragrance sweet or savoury then… who knows what it is to you? That’s what you’ll have to experience yourself!

From August 15th you’ll be able to order your own sample direct from Paris! A present from Paris, this must be love!

However, I am  GIVING AWAY EXCLUSIVE TO KIM GRAY FOLLOWERS,  5X 80ml Full sized Bottles valued at R1095 each. SO 5 Lucky ladies will get their hands on a bottle before it hits stores end September. Exciting!

Womanity, much like the fragrance, represents an understated boldness; a preparedness to take the world head-on, yet admit to one’s feminine, fun and flirtatious side. It encompasses the spark of fire in every woman’s heart – the ‘warrioress’ in us all, but not neglecting to charm, dazzle and exhibit our individuality simultaneously.

It means frosting oneself with exceptional flair and feminity. Exclusive, desirable and undoubtly unique!

Womanity is too exquisite to be defined. This being said, it is something to be celebrated and cherished. The place of women in society has changed so radically from being considered inferior to men to finally being seen for what we are, an equal with our own unique attributes. By wearing a fragrance as beautiful as Womanity, we are celebrating the evolution of our place in society whilst making a sensual statement of our very essence, our Womanity.

Makes me feel WOW, I’m special. Confidence in any situation, if you feel a million dollars when you get compliments about the smell of your perfume that fills the room.
    I love Thierry Mugler fragrances!!!!

It is about the love and appreciation of life, despite the good, the bad and the ugly. It is all about rising above the challenges of life and living the best life you can possibly live. It is about finding joy in the simplest experiences. Also, it is about not sweating the small stuff.

To me, the meaning of being a woman revolves around beatiful clothes, perfume, makeup, delicate jewellery, and being feminine. On a deeper level, it is the ability to understand a fellow woman, carve a friendship that nobody else can understand. The bond I have with my sister and girlfriends is truly and forever unbreakable, based on understanding, and inside jokes that no-one else can understand, as well as a deep respect and love for each other. There are many aspects to being a woman but each woman must find within herself what Womanity means to her.

Womanity-One word with so much hidden meaning.Just like a woman, one face, so many emotions, one facade so many dimensions – so many people in one. Womanity – suggesting that woman can rule the world, forget about Humanity – Womanity is what it is all about!

“A woman can be a visionary, leader, teacher, activist, writer, orator and thinker all in one.” This is my favorite qoute that epitomises a woman.

To me womanity means embracing and appreciating your feminity. I believe that feminity is Gods given gift that needs to be pampered at all times.

Womanity is the freedom to embrace and express freely all the wonderful and vibrant aspects of being a women!!

The essence of being a woman is about surpassing all the challenges in life and still being able to stand up gracefully with a pure heart. …
The ability to multi-task which sets her apart from man
This is my journey as I embrace motherhood
“If you want anything said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman” -Margaret Thatcher …
This great lady couldn’t have been more correct. But I wonder how many of you would voice her opinion! I most certainly have no second thoughts about the same. Hence, today I would like to delve into the million-dollar question of “what one feels as a woman??”

Millions of pages have been dedicated to this so-called theme! But as a woman myself…I ask… “As to what effect?” I have no answer…nor I guess anyone else. I am not trying to decipher the working of a woman’s mind here…I am only trying to jot down what I feel as a woman…and may be somewhere someone would also relate to me…It’s just a hope…but a big hope nonetheless!!

But why is it that a woman’s behavior is judged and evaluated all the time? Why does her doings have to meet the so-called standard set by the society’s mandarins? And man can do anything without even an eyebrow being raised and get away? Oh! I guess it is because somebody somewhere has coined the adage “man will be man”!! And nothing like “ woman will be woman”!! Truly unfair I must say.

When God made us (or when we were developed…as science tells us), I wonder if there was any hierarchy in the society? Any foundation of a power war between the two genders?? I don’t think so…and I know most of you educated people out there would agree with me…and I am thankful to you for that.

Some of you might be thinking I am a “feminist”!! Let me be candid here people and make an honest confession… “I am not” because I don’t exactly know the meaning of this “over hyped word”. I definitely am a female belonging to the so-called “fairer sex”. I am aware of what my needs are…I know what I want from life and I also know what I can get. I know my limitations and my inhibitions and my dreams and hopes stand very clear in front of my eyes. But I believe these are not typical of a woman only. I guess all aware human being will nurture such feelings…even males!! But I tried and I tried hard…still could not find a term “ masculinist” in the dictionary!!(And I thought Oxford was the next perfect thing after google!)

It may also be the case that there hasn’t been any need for a word like that. However, that seems so unlikely considering we all are human at the end…we feel the same and live the same kind of lives…but may be it is one of the so many things that one learns to take for granted.

However, I still don’t understand the need to voice my thoughts for equal status in the society…I don’t understand why we claim to be equal and then ask for 33% reservation, or a few reserved seats in the bus, or relaxed eligibility criteria for admissions, or preferential treatment in work place or anywhere else? People will have reasons enough to defend this line of thought but my “irrational” mind could not come up with something rational to justify the same…

I have worked for 4 long years in a reputable organization…(still then I had been a female!!)…But I never wanted less targets than my male colleagues( I was never given one!!), I was never expected to work less hours only because I was a woman, neither was I appraised unnecessarily for the same reason. Hence, I cringe even at the thought of women expecting “something special” only because they are women.

However, my feeling so would not change a dime. As somebody said… “ If you cannot change the system…be a part of the system”!!…Anyways it sounds logical though…for those it works.

It’s all in our mind…the disparity, the downtrodden-ness, the partial behavior, the injustice…. everything. Others will see that part of us that we show to them…the image of a human being one portrays to be…and nothing else. The World will not see what’s inside our mind or soul…it will only see what we exude…

As far as my opinion is concerned (Anyways it is my blog after all…my opinions matter!!)…I think men and women are not here to compete with each other but to complement each other. We both have our special traits that no matter what happens cannot be interchanged. End of the day…if left alone… we would be incomplete…in someway or the other. Alone we will always have something missing…that’s the law of nature…it’s the way we have been individually molded. The day everybody realizes this fact… I can hope even the word “feminism” will cease to exist… and I for once would not be termed a feminist when I speak my mind….I would rather be called a human….

A womanity is the essence of every woman; be it she has suffered hardship or that she looks perfect; its the ability of a woman to still have the soft appeal and to be compasionate to others.

Its the ability to be able to get up when we are at our lowest and the ability to inspire others. Its to be strong and yet soft inside and its the ability to always be beautifull

  16. Nicola 01. Sep, 2010 at 16:47

Two years ago, I became a mom. Womanity symbolizes the MANY roles and facets of a woman, on a daily basis I am law enforcement, educator, counsellor, religious leader, politician, economist, friend, lover, wife, chef, poet, bibliophile and dreamer. Still with moments of pure bliss where I catch a glimpse of myself as a little girl in a twirly dress. To me, womanity celebrates feminity, and all the crazy contrasting roles we fulfill on a daily basis. What a honour it is to be a woman!
