BEAUTY FEATURE FRIDAY – MOOI BEAUTY SALON

Last week I had my first ever facial peel at Mooi.  A charming beauty salon in Kloof Street.

I guess it’s from watching too many extreme make overs and disaster series, but I was really nervous and almost backed out of the peel for a plain old facial instead. I was made assured that I would be able to face the world with no worries afterwards and decided to brave my fears.

Mooi uses RegimaA, a locally produced product. The peel consists of natural fruit acids and contains no harsh chemicals and can be applied in different strengths depending on your skin concerns. i.e. pigmentation, acne scaring, anti ageing etc..

The gel textured peel was instantly itchy, but the therapist constantly moves her fingers over your face, relieving the itch. It was never painful or uncomfortable. Nothing like the scary picture I’d painted in my mind.

My cheeks were lovely and rosy afterwards, like I’d been for a brisk walk or run, but there was no flaky skin or patches and I was certainly able to go to my next appointment scar free. Besides the poor chap at the M.A.C counter offering me everything possible for oily skin afterwards (bless him ha ha) , due to my new found glowing skin and the lovely cream and oil applied to my face afterwards, I never felt self conscious walking through the Waterfront straight after the peel.

I’m now hooked. Skin is left fresh, smooth, youthful and glowing. I’m definitely going back!

I loved the attention to detail. Your shoes get stored in little boxes as your feet submerge into fluffy slipper heaven. The Salon is so pretty and personal too and I think you’ll agree their prices are quite competitive! How gorgeous is their hair salon right next door.

So check out Mooi, for well, all things mooi!
