BEAUTY FEATURE FRIDAY – THE CAPE GRACE SPA

Towards the end of last year I was treated to the new Signature Treatment at the Cape Grace Spa, The Spice Journey.

My treatment started by filling in a form and sipping on lemon water staring up at the beautiful Table Mountain. Fluffy gowns, spectacular views and neat, manicured change rooms set the tone for what seemed to be a luxurious 90 mins ahead.

The Spice Journey, inspired by Vasco Da Gama’s Voyages, takes one from India to Kenya, Tanzania to Madagascar and Mozambique to South Africa.

The Body is prepped with a Pre-treatment Rub , relaxing the skin and muscles through Indian Spices Sandalwood and Musk. Next a full body scrub with Fruit Butter Emulsion from Kenya exfoliates the skin. It smells delicious!

Next, my favourite part of the treatment. A Honey Mud Mask is applied to the body that hydrates and nourishes the skin. It contains honey, olive oil and kaolin oil and it feels like condense milk lathered all over your body. It’s so silky and creamy and the texture feels amazing.

I then went to sit in the sauna for 5 minutes for all the ingredients to heat and nourish my skin.

After a shower with shower gel containing lemon extracts to combat cellulite and Tamarind from India know to relieve fever and pain, it was back on the bed for a wonderful massage with Massage Butter with ingredients from Mozambique.

The Massage Butter contains Kigelia from Africa, an antiseptic, Rooibos, a natural antioxidant and Aloe Vera a natural wound healer. A body mist is then sprayed to sooth and refresh the skin.

When I filled in a form on arrival, it asked what I would like to achieve from my experience. I simply said, to relax. Well relax I did. My therapist was friendly, approachable and created a relaxing experience and environment. I felt like I could fall fast asleep on the treatment bed and whisk away into my own journey of sleep. I highly recommend this treatment for a nourishing and relaxing all over body experience.

I have also been using the NEW Skin Sphere Range developed by the Cape Grace Spa. It’s absolutely wonderful! I think I may have to go and buy the range as my travel size products courtesy of  The Cape Grace Spa are nearly done. The Hydrating mask is a winner and the cleanser is probably one of the softest on my skin that I’ve tried.
