Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer

Feel like work is getting you down and your skin flaring up!? Never fear for Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer is here to reduce visible signs of stress and fatigue!

  • Addresses both the short-term visible signs and long term premature aging effect that stress can have on skin.
  • Clinical results showed that 100% of those tested showed a significant improvement in overall skin quality, dryness and blotchiness.
  • The formula with Rosa Gallica Botanical Extract helps minimize skin’s visible response to stress.
  • Mannose, a barrier protecting rare sugar, shields and helps maintain skin to promote recovery.

I’m a huge Kiehl’s fan and here’s another winner to boot. It has a very light, smoothing texture and so I use it almost as a booster under day cream. I definitely noticed my skin is looking a little more revived. I also love the 75ml pump bottle making it perfect for travel – we all know how our skins need that extra help come flying anyway! Just Fab!

Kiehl’s Super Multi Corrective Cream

Ooh now this is a beautiful cream! Just the texture alone has me hooked, it’s so ultra silky and rich and my skin feels amazingly soft. Welcome the new Kiehl’s Super Multi Corrective Cream launching 1 October. (R715.00)

Instead of focusing on the individual concerns related to aging skin, Kiehl‘s took a multi-functional approach by targeting multiple key signs of aging. With Kiehl‘s cutting edge formula and proprietary tri-active technology,

Kiehl’s Super Multi-Corrective Cream is clinically demonstrated to simultaneously lift, firm, visibly redefine skin contours and re-texturize skin within 2 weeks with double efficacy shown within 4 weeks.

Kiehl‘s chemists focused on three ingredients that until now  have never been combined in a cream:

Jasmonic Acid: A highly effective yet very mild, active known for its ability to support epidermal renewal and help to visibly correct wrinkles, fine lines, loss of suppleness and elasticity, while gently smoothing and retexturizing the skin‘s surface.

*Did you know? In nature, when plants are attacked, damaged or under stress, they produce a lipid basedsignal molecule, Jasmonic Acid, that triggers and regulates a plant responses to these external stressors. It has an important role in the plant‘s self-repair response and resistance to wounding.

Beech Tree Extract: Known for its ability to improve skin firmness and visibly improve plumpness and density. Beech Tree Extract is a xylose based molecule, a sugar found abundantly in beech trees and known to stimulate the production of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs)2

Fragmented Hyaluronic Acid: Known to reinforce skin‘s natural short and long term moisturization. Additionally, it is known to improve skin elasticity while reducing skinroughness and reducing the appearance.

With 3 powerhouse anti-aging ingredients in Kiehl‘s Tri-active Technology, each known for their distinct  benefits, Kiehl‘s chemists built a hard-working solution offering advanced performance and multi-tasking  action. In a simple to use cream formula for daily use, Kiehl‘s customers can swiftly and easily correct multiple  key signs of aging in just 2 weeks with doubled correction within 4 weeks.

Really loving this cream and am lathering it on come day or night!

Kiehl’s Challengers Round Up

And so my fabulous Kiehl’s challengers round up their 4 week experience using Keihl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. See their before’s here and here.

PIPPA:

So the CHANGE YOUR SKIN challenge is over, I’ve been using Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate for a month now, and I have really enjoyed it. Although the challenge is officially over, I am definitely going to keep using KMRC as part of my night-time skin care routine.

I’m just a bit bummed that I have been having such hectic breakouts of late, and I know it is pregnancy-induced. It has nothing to do with the Kiehl’s product but the constant appearance of spots around the chin area of my face has unfortunately tainted my opinion of my skin overall.

In the below pics I have taken the photo from an angle that deliberately doesn’t subject you to a full frontal of the mountain on my chin!

Anyhoo….My thoughts on the product?

  • I enjoyed using it, and will continue to do so
  • If you’re looking for an oil-based serum that doesn’t leave that oily residue on your skin, I would go for KMRC. The texture of the product is perfect
  • The scent of this product is beautiful and it enhances one’s feeling of being pampered when using it
  • Have I noticed a huge difference to my skin? Not really
  • Has it ‘changed my skin‘? I don’t think so, but that’s quite a drastic claim which I’m not sure anything other than a facelift could actually do. However I do think that it has changed another trial candidate’s skin – that of Bianca – see her review on Kim Gray’s blog here
  • I would recommend this to friends who need extra nourishment over the dry Winter months in Jo’burg (although I’d probably also use it in Summer anyway).
  • Hmmm..Crow’s feet not looking too good when I smile, need to start using their eye cream!
ALEX:
I have really enjoyed testing this product!  I have definitely seen an improvement in the overall condition of my skin – reduced fine lines, far less pigmentation and a lovely healthy glow have been the best take-aways from this challenge.
Although not quite J-Lo’s skin (yet!  I live in hope…) I am happy with the results of the 4 week challenge and will continue to use this product until it is finished. I will most likely buy more and continue using it as I think this is definitely a worthwhile investment.

DELPHINE:
After 4 weeks I have really enjoyed the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate. It delivered on the hydration which is one of my main concerns especially in winter.  MRC smells divine and it’s a great experience using it. This will definitely form a core part of my winter skincare regime J  I am partial to products which have a dropper or pump because it really helps with getting the correct amount of product, prevents contamination and also means it lasts a lot longer.

The challenge made me rethink all the times I have tried products and expected a dramatic difference within a few days however a product needs time and consistent use to really give one the full benefit. There is also great value in a before photo and this is a practice I will continue now when trying products even just privately because it allows one to really see the difference even when at it didn’t look different  in the bathroom mirror but the photo’s told a different story . A fresh look and new perspective on my skincare routine means that I have slowed down and am taking the time to enjoy the process and appreciate the product textures, smells and packaging of the products being used. Thanks @Kiehls @Kimgray

BIANCA:

Hi everybody! I can’t believe 4 weeks have flown by so quickly! Needless to say this little product has definitely changed my skin for the better and I can’t imagine living without it!

I really noticed a dramatic change in the first 2 weeks, which as I’ve said before is great as you can see the product is working. The most dramatic change I have seen is that of the hydration condition of my skin. I think most people have mentioned this in their feedback reports and it has definitely been a standout factor for me. I love how plump my skin has become and how radiant and healthy it looks. It hasn’t broken me out at all so if you ladies are like me and have oily skin don’t be afraid of this product!

I have also noticed that the fine lines around my eyes seem to be reducing – this is most likely from the hydration factor. I am so interested to see what will develop over months of constant use, I think I might just continue to take pictures to see the change!

Lastly not only do I love the change that Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate has made to my skin, but I love how long this product is going to last. I have been very generous in my application in the evenings and after 4 weeks of use I haven’t even made a dent in the bottle. This is seriously going to last you for a good 6 months so totally worth the price tag in my opinion. This little guy will be part of my beauty regime for years to come – thank you Kiehl’s!

HAVE YOU WON WITH KIEHL’S?

Big congrats to Joanna Ryan, Shirley Bisschoff and Candice Blair Ying Sun. Please e-mail me to claim your prize! ENJOY your new little bottle of gold! xx

My Kiehl’s 28 Day Challenge Round Up

So I’ve reached the end of my Kiehl’s 28 day “Change You Skin Challenge” and I’m happy to report I still have so much product left. I reckon a bottle should last you at least 3 or 4 months. This has been a fantastic night ritual. The product smells beautiful, botanical and the lavender calming and relaxing before bed time. The product feels great on my skin. I love the ritual of rubbing it in my palms, heating the product up and then pressing it into my skin.

I noticed more of a difference in my skin at the beginning stages of using the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, and then it was just consistent and generally feeling great.

This pic above is on starting the challenge – first day in.  Here I’m smiling, so naturally my crows feet are a a bit deeper, but as you can see in the 2nd pic, I definitely had a softening in the lines around my eyes.

My skin has felt plumped and healthy and although I wear a tinted moisturiser, as seen here below, I’ve had days were I’ve felt good-to-go without any. I still get dark circles under my eyes, something I’ve had since a kids, so I’m not sure any product will really fix that, but they’ve been a little better I think. Maybe it’s also the lack of alcohol and late nights over the last 5/6 months 🙂

So would I buy this product again, definitely. I still love the feeling of a rich cream at night, but this is a fantastic booster underneath your night cream, even to try once off when skin needs a boost and you’re feeling on the grey, tired, dull side. It totally puts that glow back into your skin, well for me anyway. Monday I’ll hopefully have my last reports in from all my Kiehl’s challangers and you can see what they have to say. Again, our skins are all different, not to mention our lifestyle. But I can’t wait to see what another 28 days using the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate holds!

Oh, plus I’ll announce the winners Monday 🙂 xx

Kiehl’s week 3

Here’s an update from some of the Kiehl’s Challengers, week 3 of trying out the Midnight Recovery Concentrate! (Here’s a reminder of their skins 1 wk in)  Pop back to see everyone’s final verdicts as they enter 4 wks of trying out their little bottles of goodness! Final round up end of the wk! xx

Alex:

Week 3 KCYSC – I am still loving using this product but, like you, I am tending to use 4-5 drops as opposed to the recommended 2-3.  Even so the bottle is still virtually full so this product really lasts which is amazing!

I don’t see an enormous amount of difference between the photos I took in week 2 and the new ones from week 3 but I still think the product is making a subtle difference to the overall condition of my skin.

There is still that natural glow and my pigmentation seems to be lessening and a few people have started commenting that my skin looks great which tells me I am not imagining it!  (yay I am not crazy…)

Pippa:
Into week 3 of the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate challenge and not much more to report than last week.

I am definitely still enjoying using the product, but I have had break-out of all breakouts over the last week unfortunately, so that has kind of overshadowed any joy I may have experienced from using KMRC.

Honestly it’s been one mountain after the other appearing on my chin and around my hairline, so hideous. I have never really suffered from bad skin so when I do I don’t cope very well! I don’t think it has anything to do with using Kiehl’s though, I’m pretty sure it is hormonal – a pregnancy side-effect. Nice.

Anyway, moving on from the breakouts. When I look at previous photos I do think my skin is looking generally good so I’m happy with the product. There is possibly less puffiness in the mornings which I’ve noticed, and it might be getting a little smoother in texture…but other than that I haven’t noticed any massive CHANGES to my skin – I think my skin just looks generally good.

These photos aren’t fantastic as I have dark rings under my eyes, but I took about 15 and these were the best of the lot!

 Bianca:

Hello everyone!

So it’s week 3 of using the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. The difference between week 2 and 3 hasn’t been vast, which is totally fine with me. I like that this product has made a dramatic difference for me over the first 2 weeks of using it, so you really can get the reassurance rather quickly that it is doing its job. Too often I buy a new product and use it for about a month and you can’t really tell a difference. It’s so great to actually see a product working within the first 2 weeks of using it. That’s a big bonus for me, especially if you are going to go out and purchase something pricey.

My skin is still smoother than ever and more plump and radiant. I am now on the hunt for the perfect tinted moisturizer/BB cream/light coverage foundation so that on the days where I don’t feel like going for full coverage I can easily rock the light foundation look too. I am so excited about this, I’ve always been jealous of woman who could wear hardly any foundation and look amazing – now I can too! Thanks Kiehl’s for making this possible!

As for me – I’m just really happy with the consistency of my skin. My skin texture is more evened, skin still feeling plumped and I’m feeling more confident with bare skin as opposed to tinted moisturiser.  This product has me wanting to try loads more Kiehl’s products.
