Skin Creamery

I’ve been trying out this seriously beautiful, 100% organic cream called, Skin Creamery (Just love then name!) I love indulging in it every morning – with its fresh coconut fragrance. Made up of coconut oil, Joboba Oil & Baobab Oil – it’ll have your skin super hydrated and nourished. For those that love a little less-is-more living, it can be used on both face & body.

The One & Only Le Saint Géran: Part 2

In Part 2 of The One & Only Le Saint Géran in Mauritius, I share with you the MOST magical spa experience! (If you missed Part 1, you can read it here)

Garden pavillon

The one day I was so thankful for rain on the Island, was my spa day! Relaxing to the sounds of the rain, forced to be inside – I had the most magical experience, but little did I know, back outside!

After enjoying the steam room & sauna, I relaxed in the chill out area over looking this magnificent pool and view while I waited for my treatment – (so it’s a bonus to arrive early). I loved the different flavoured water available for what ever you mood you were in. (unwind, restore etc) I just closed my eyes and relaxed, it really is a treat just to be quiet.

Walking to my treatment room was like walking through a rain forest (And rain it did) Amongst the lush vegetation running between the hotel, awaits The Garden Spa Pavilion. Enjoy a private or couples massage or an array of other decadent treatments. I so loved the natural sweet fragrance in the air, the breeze on my skin and sound of the pouring rain while I enjoyed my treatment. No pan pipes, no aircon or staff/guests chatting outside your room. Absolute bliss!

Oh, and the massage was also fantastic! My therapist really got stuck into my shoulders where I needed it most. Amazing!

After my spa treatment I was off to the exclusive Pedi:Mani:Cure Studio by Bastien Gonzalez. now If you’ve not heard of or had a Banstien Pedi – let me tell you it’s like no other pedi you’ve experienced! (So special it’s separate from the spa – an entity on it’s own!) Overlooking the resort and beach – palm trees in abundance – I relaxed (again!) and watch the magic, or should I say transformation, unveil.

I was surprised to have a guy attend to my feet – but when you see all the little, what look like power drills and precision involved, it kind of makes sense in a way :) Toes and feet are buffed and polished till ones toes are literally sparkling – you can get your toes painted but I think you’d want to leave your feet natural for a while, they’re just so perfect afterwards. (See here for more in-depth detail about Bastien Gonzalez treatments- AND, if you’re not headed for Mauritius anytime soon – you can the Bastien experience in Cape Town!)

Perfection! A serious treat to experience both the Spa & Bastien Gonzalez Studio – dinner awaits in part 3! xx

Mio Magic

The Mio Range of Body Care products have to be one of my favourite “Body Care” brands. The packaging, texture and results! Not to mention they strive to have “No Nasties” in their creams. I just love everything about them!

Get Wasited: A little goes a long way – just one pump and you’re on your way to a firmer, flatter tummy. I lost 1 cm while using this product. Ok so I can’t guarantee it’s ALL on the Mio Get Wasted and not incorporating Pilates and banting – but interesting that I dropped another cm while using this – as I’ve not changed much else in my daily routine. I love the fresh, minty fragrance and the slight, cooling tingle it leaves on my skin. Also, how easily it absorbs. Read more on how it works here.

LOVE this super nourishing, thick yet absorbant oil. The Activist Firming Body Oil strengthens and firms the skin – leaving it soft and supple. The texture is amazing! Read how it works here. If you prefer a cream, it also comes in a rich, thick and luscious body butter (Future Proof Firming Active Body Butter) which just feels so pampering and nourishing. Again you’ll find with all these products a little goes a long way. I just want to lather it on THICK though, it just feels so good! A great little investment for the festive season! :) xx

5 Summer essentials I’m loving

Eyes, lips, skin, body and fragrance, 5 products I’m loving for summer.

1.) The Nivea Q10 Roll plus Anti Wrinkle Energy Roll On (R149.95) is so cool and refreshing on your skin with its light and fast absorbing formula. Part of the Anti Wrinkle Energy Range, it contains Coenzyme Q10 & Creatine helping to fight free radicals thanks to antioxidants in Q10 and providing much needed energy to the skin for it to perform optimally, reviving tired, dull skin around the eyes.

2.) I’m obsessed with the Nivea Body Firming Oil with Q10 & rich Macadamia Nut Oil (R99.99). It contains a new Energy complex which helps to stimulate cell renewal and appearance of your skin, increasing firmness in just 2 weeks. I just love how this oil feels on my skin. It’s easily absorbed and leaves a soft sheen.

3.) If you can’t afford a bottle of No.5 – let me tell you the silky Chanel no.5 Body Powder (R930) is exquisite. Either use it to layer your fragrances for a lasting effect, or I simply apply the powder for a subtle summer scent. Perfect if you’re going to be out in the heat. Available at Edgars.

4.) I’ve long been a fan of Smith’s Rose Bud Lip Balm (R125) – and have a tin on my desk, handbag, nappy bag etc – I was so excited to discover their latest edition, the Smiths Rose & Mandarin Lip Balm. It has an exotic, spicy fragrance and just looks and feels like summer. Super nourishing too.

5.) Yay, a factor 50 sunscreen and BB Cream in one. (And paraben free) I love how natural this Vichy Capital Soleil SPF 50 BB Cream (R279) is – it’s actually a bit lighter than most BB creams so it really just enhances , warms and evens out skin tone while providing a fantastic glow without the heavy shine, no worrying about  streaking and no thick, heavy sunscreen feel either. Gorgeous.

So keep sun safe and your skin hydrated this summer – hope you’ll love these products for your beach bag too! x
