Key Responsibilities: •Identifying possible sites for new stores in SA and neighbouring countries. This requires an intimate knowledge of both cities and small towns in and around SA. •Negotiating for Truworths to secure the best location in a new mall or development or town. •Negotiating the terms and conditions of the lease (Heads of Agreement) including rentals, etc. •Added to this is a substantial amount of feasibility work / studies (i.e. regarding the viability of the store) and use of a financial model in this regard. This includes “profiling” each store in terms of which brands / departments would be part of the merchandise mix. •Administer leases (i.e. ensuring that the promises made by either party are fulfilled). Included in this would be the timely renewal of lease options.
