Last week we had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful Gelukkie, a-la-retreat! A peaceful little haven on a farm just before entering Paternoster. However, the place made me want to throw a rip-roaring party! Gelukkie’s recent launch of “Joy”, their wedding venue, is super special with its rustic yet chic charm. An intimate setting in a magical garden-courtyard.

There are some special touches in the accommodation – like Ruth’s handmade, recycled chandeliers . . .

And a chill out room to escape with a good book.

There is a pizza over and large fire pits to enjoy all sorts of fire foods for events. Pizza, paella and more . . The venue also allows for indoor or outdoor entertaining. If it’s just a weekend away you’re looking for, then the peaceful courtyard and its day bed are calling you. The beach is two minutes away too – will loads of fantastic, fun and fancy restaurants around.

Owners Ruth & Andrew are so warm and accommodating while Cindy, events co-ordinator running the show, is an absolute darling who will take care of your needs. A caring team indeed.

There are two units, Klein Gelukkie and Nog ‘n Gelukkie that sleep 2pl, so great to go away with another couple as it’s so lovely to sit outside and braai, klink some glasses and enjoy the West Coast charm.

Oh I hope I get to throw a party there someday!
